Andrea Myers Helps Earn National Recognition for the Junior League of San Diego

Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek was built on a foundation of community support. We are pleased that Shareholder Andrea Myers has taken this commitment to heart to serve as the Fund Development Director for the Junior League of San Diego, an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Andrea previously served as the event chair and designed and re-launched the organization’s Food & Wine Festival into a successful signature fundraiser.

The event was such a success that the efforts of the Junior League of San Diego were recently recognized at the 93rd Annual Conference of The Association of Junior Leagues International.

In creating a new multi-faceted signature fundraiser, the Junior League of San Diego exceeded expectations by increasing overall revenue 61 percent over the past three years. Corporate sponsorships now account for 32 percent of event revenue, 75 percent of ticket sales are to non-members, tickets now sell out prior to the event, and attendance has doubled.

The Junior League of San Diego Food and Wine Festival: A Kentucky Derby Affair! drew chefs, breweries and wineries from all over the area. Leveraging media partnerships to increase pre-event exposure, Junior League of San Diego organizers also gave a greater role to corporate sponsors and partners via year-long contracts and increased positive brand awareness in the community.

Congratulations to Andrea and her fellow Junior League members for their commitment to the San Diego community and all of the good works they do.
