Brian Katusian Authors Annual Update of CEB Publication (2025)
Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek Shareholder Brian Katusian has authored the annual chapter updates to two chapters in the Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) 2025 edition of “Financing and Protecting California Businesses.” This is the 14th year he has contributed content to the publication.
In the chapter “Tax and Accounting Elections,” Brian examines the various tax and accounting elections available to California businesses of all sizes. In the following chapter, “Tax Compliance,” he discusses the myriad of federal and state tax compliance issues unique to California businesses. The chapter also explains how and when to notify taxing authorities to satisfy tax compliance and reporting requirements, as well as how to establish record-keeping procedures.
Brian, who is a State Bar of California Certified Legal Specialist in Taxation Law, focuses on tax law, tax-exempt organizations and ERISA/employee benefits.
CEB is a program of the University of California, which is co-sponsored by the State Bar of California, to provide practical legal resources to help California lawyers achieve success. Its annual “Financing and Protecting California Businesses” publication helps lawyers advise clients with assurance on the practical issues of raising capital, tax and regulatory compliance and protection of business operations.
