SCMV Adds Ricardo Arias to Cross-Border Practice
SCMV announces that Ricardo Arias has joined the Litigation Department as an associate. Ricardo, who has worked at SCMV since 2013 first as a paralegal then a law clerk, will provide legal services and counsel foreign and domestic companies as they expand their businesses across national boundaries and global markets.
“While he’s not new to the team, Ricardo brings a fresh perspective to SCMV’s Litigation Department,” said shareholder Greg Vega, chair of SCMV’s Litigation Department. “Over the past five years, he’s played an instrumental role in our team’s handling of white-collar defense and business litigation matters. Ricardo has effectively leveraged these experiences defending business executives, shareholders and owners to provide a pragmatic and well-rounded approach to cross-border matters.”
Prior to joining SCMV, Ricardo worked as a law clerk and interpreter with the nonprofit Federal Defenders of San Diego Inc. Ricardo was a certified legal intern for the San Diego County Public Defender Office and worked as a law clerk for the Florida Immigration Advocacy Center in Miami. In these roles, he served on legal teams defending business executives, shareholders and owners in trademark infringement, government investigation and extradition matters.
Ricardo earned his law degree from California Western School of Law, where he was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Society and Moot Court Honors Board. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution from San Diego State University, and studied abroad at the European School of Economics in London and Rome where he earned a Certificate in International Finance.
Admitted to practice in California, Ricardo is bilingual in English and Spanish.
