SCMV Elevates Matthew Douglas to Shareholder

SCMV is pleased to announce that Matthew C. Douglas was elected as a shareholder of the firm.

Matthew joined SCMV’s Business Department as an associate in 2017. His practice focuses on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance with securities laws and general business matters.

“Matthew earned his shareholder position through consistent hard work and great outcomes for his business clients,” said Robert Caplan, president of SCMV. “Since joining the firm in 2017, Matthew has become a valuable member of the firm’s Business Department handling a variety of transactions and ensuring clients are in compliance with a complex web of laws governing them.”

Matthew represents private and public companies in a wide range of industries, including real estate, technology, finance, apparel, health care, food services and more. He has extensive experience in advising companies at all stages – from startups seeking initial venture capital financing to established companies obtaining additional capital to pursue strategic opportunities or fund ongoing operations.

Matthew is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association.

He received his law degree, cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he was named to the dean’s list and earned two CALI Awards for advanced legal research and land use. He earned his master of laws degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of law and his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.
